Here was the final route. 3,129 miles completed in about 5½ days, averaging about 10½ hours a day and loving every second of it. I wasn’t bored once and I could have done it with my phone turned off. I have no idea where I’ll be next summer but I’ll be sure to take the long way there.I’ve driven from Chicago to Seattle and back 10 times over the past 7 years. Without a doubt, the majority of the best moments of my life lie somewhere within that 2000 mile stretch. Long live I-90/94.
When I drove from Indiana to Seattle, it was definitely an experience. I drove for 2.5 days with 2-hour naps every 12 hours or so. I was rushed to get out here for an interview, but I still got to see all the scenery. It was just my dog and me, but I’d do it all over again if I had to choose. Everybody needs to make a cross-country trek (especially if you live in the US).
